9:53PM - Writer's Block: It's payday!

What would you do if you had a million dollars?

View 1406 Answers

1. Pay off any federal and state taxes I owe from getting such a sum.
2. Pay off my student loans.
3. Put some of it in a savings account and the rest in my checking account.
4. Be more generous in donations to church and charity.
5. Buy what I like, such as books, DVDs, video games, Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, and LEGOs.

Why, take over my immediate surroundings, of course, and if I feel like it, progress to bigger targets. Start with the city I'm living in, then the county, then the state, then the country...you know where this is going. I'd also use them for an idea that's been cooking in my head for a while. Plus, I'd follow the Evil Overlord's List and be a benevolent boss.

1:18AM - Gotta love tacos

We had tacos for dinner, with tostadas and tortillas as our choices to put the meat, cheese, and veggies in. Good food.

I did some cooking earlier when I refried the pot roast and added white gravy. I guess you could call it chipped beef, although the meat's tender. As of now, all my laundry's been done, although I have no idea where that pair of black undies went. How odd.

I should find Megaman artbooks for drawing references. I like the art styles from the various games. Also nice: Owning all the games.

Hmmm...laptop now warns me to plug it in at 10% remaining battery power instead of 5%. Interesting.

9:46PM - So long, David Tennant, and thanks for all the good times

After the British got to see it, I watched the second part of The End of Time, a.k.a. David Tennant's last appearance as the Doctor. Dang. That's all I've got to say. And those farewell scenes to all his companions...dang. What a way to end a stint. Thank goodness Tennant stuck around for so long--he was a goofy, brilliant, and lonely Doctor. Here's to hoping Matt Smith will do well as the next Doctor.

On another note, this Demons series looks good so far.

12:41PM - Power Rangers Remastered

I remember when the old Transformers cartoon were reaired under the name "Generation 2" and had a floating CG cube that handled scene changes by opening to the next scene. I found that damn cube annoying since the sound it makes while changing scenes covered any dialogue being said by the characters. Also, the cube wasn't really necessary and was just there to make the episodes look new. It was like "Hey, let's make this old stuff look nice by throwing in something shiny," and then adding something that wasn't needed to being with.

This is my reaction to the "new" version of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Since we're getting no more new seasons of PR, ABC Kids is airing MMPR reruns, but with additions like a new logo and effects that fit in with Pop-up Video and give the show a comic book feel (anyone for campy Batman-style fighting words?). Didn't work for me. Sure, some of the added effects worked--the opening was all right, the miniaturized Japanese shuttle that became a time warp device did need something to make it stand out, and the captioning of the Zords worked the first time--but all I wanted was my campy PR goodness. I don't need shiny things as I pondered why Goldar would run away from the Megazord when it got its Power Sword when Goldar was the one who was winning the fight. I expected digital touchup only, and I didn't see the point of adding effects other than appealing to a new generation. It could've been done without changing the logo. At least they kept the original music.

On a somber note, it was nice seeing Trini and Ernie on screen.

1:01AM - Mmmmm...chicken katsu

Since we slept in, we went to noon Mass. Lunch was at a Japanese restaurant, where I devoured most of my bento box. Chicken katsu good. Also ate most of my tempura. Some grocery shopping later--I stayed in the car with the wee one--we returned home, where I watched the wee one while his mommy went to work. Thank goodness for LEGOs. Wee one wanted to stay up late so her could see his daddy. Awww...

2:26PM - It was something to do

To pass the time while waiting for the Strike Witches finale to be uploaded onto Crunchyroll, I organized most of the LEGO blocks I brought with me into three piles: bricks, flats, and miscellaneous parts. I also put away pieces--um, Golems--that I'd like to take pictures of and play with once I return home.

Now if only I could figure out how to put everything back in a way that'll ensure a good portion of each pile is present. *Stares at buckets, then goes to Crunchyroll* I need a big plastic box...
